What is dabbing?
Dabbing is a method of consuming highly potent cannabis concentrates, such as wax, shatter, budder or rosin. This practice is often associated with the use of specific devices, such as a dab rig.
During dabbing, a small amount of cannabis concentrate is heated to a very high temperature, usually on a titanium, quartz or glass surface known as a nail. Once heated, the concentrate is inhaled by spraying it with a dabber (a sharp metal tool) and placing it on the hot nail. The smoke produced is then inhaled through a rig (a type of water pipe) or a vaporiser specially designed for dabbing.
Dabbing is reputed to produce a rapid and intense inhalation of cannabinoids, offering a more powerful experience than simply inhaling cannabis flowers. The concentrates used in dabbing can have very high levels of CBD, which can result in very powerful relaxing effects.
It should be noted that dabbing is an advanced method of consumption and it is important to take precautions when practising it. Due to the high temperatures involved, it is crucial to handle the equipment with care to avoid burns. What's more, given the potency of the concentrates used, it's advisable to start with small quantities and dose carefully to avoid any undesirable effects.
